Greetings fellow Kin;
Welcome to The High River Steak Out.
The host hotel is the Heritage Inn. Call (403)652-3834 for reservations, and be sure to mention that you are part of Kin. Prices per night are $121 for a double room, $114 for a single. If the Heritage is full, the two alternates are the Ramada (403)601-3183, and the Super 8 (403)652-4448, both more or less across the highway from the Heritage Inn, but a healthy walk. We do not have a group rate for the Ramada or Super 8, and the price will be approximately $130.
We also have a group camp area for those with motorhomes. There are 12 sites with electrical hookups available on a first come first served basis at $5 per night, with room to squeeze in a couple of units without power. Camping is along the river and directly across the street from the meetings and events. This is the location of Friday’s steak barbecue, and it will be party central for the whole weekend.
That’s right — steaks on the barbie, what we’re famous for. And no little diner-quality 6 ounce cutlets. We’ve been patiently aging some select 12 ounce Alberta’s finest rib eye for many a week already, guaranteed to be the best thing to pass your jaw in this lifetime. But vegetarians need not despair, we’re ready to accommodate you also with an actual meal, not a token salad. Just be sure to let us know on the registration form.
If Friday doesn’t satisfy your red meat cravings, Saturday’s dinner will be prime rib, followed by entertainment from an 18 piece orchestra to dance off some calories.
We promise a great weekend, and no one leaves High River hungry. We can’t promise that you will get out of town alive, that’s up to you.
Cheers,
Lincoln Frey
